Tetrapods are breakwaters used on many coastlines to counter marine erosion.  The Tetrapod is a sculpture and a design project. A tetrapod mold is made of chestnut, using techniques I learned in marine carpentry. Inspired by G. Penone, the mold is a sculptural piece in its own right.  There, I grow bio-sourced materials with a heavy substrate to create new types of riprap dikes with various properties.
